A Joyful Transformation for Your Child’s Bedroom

Your child’s bedroom should
be a sanctuary where he or
she can think and daydream,
be creative, discover hidden talents, read, or listen to music. As a loving parent, it's important to find children’s furniture that will provide your child with durable fun and great memories.

Children’s bedrooms are usually the smallest of the bedrooms in your home, so be sure to use every inch of available space. Children love to store “stuff”, so there should be space set aside for your child’s small knickknacks. Set up a shelf or toy storage area that will make your child's bedroom safe and comfortable.

Opening the door to your child’s imagination will make his bedroom a fun place to be. You'll be surprised at how your child can help make his room a cheerful spot using his favorite colors and themes. Once you have thought over your child’s favorites, it will be easier for you to find the right children's furniture and other room decorations.

Since your child will do much more than sleep in his bedroom, you should buy children’s furniture that will fully support all of his activities.

Many children enjoy drawing, painting, coloring, or playing with dolls and action figures. Set up an activity area where your child can comfortably play without needing to put everything away after each session. Educational rugs, play mats or pint-sized tables are ideal for this.

]If your child loves to read or look at books, then set up a reading corner that is inviting and comfortable. Get a cozy child-sized chair, beanbag chair or a soft rug and overstuffed pillows or giant stuffed animals. Make sure that the lighting in this area is good for reading and have a small bookcase available so that he will keep his books together.

Keeping a child’s bedroom clutter-free is important for children and busy parents. You don’t want to have to nag your child about keeping his room in order, and you don’t want to add another area of the house onto your daily cleaning schedule.  Here are some simple ideas that can help:

Put up a bulletin board for photographs, artwork and school work that he is proud of.

Look for a small cabinet to display items that gives your child comfort to have around. Children’s furniture stores have excellent choices in child-sized pieces that can be used for other purposes as your child grows.

Put baskets or large plastic bins in the room where your child can drop his toys, books and dirty clothes.

Lower the pole in your child’s closet so that he can hang his own clothes up.

Buy at trusted children’s furniture stores or buy only name brand children’s furniture.  This will ensure that you buy safe, dependable and durable furniture.  This doesn’t mean that you have to bust your budget to furnish your child’s room.  Set a furniture budget and invest the most in a good bed and dressers that will last for years.  You can save money on decorative items or theme items by buying sale items at hardware and discount stores, shopping at garage sales or thrift stores and refurbishing items, and painting the room yourself and sewing curtains for the room.

We will share more information on children’s furniture, children’s bedroom sets, children’s dollhouse furniture and kid’s dressers so that furnishing your child’s bedroom can be a fun family experience.
